Rest days should be a regular part of your running and walking program. Rest days should be much easier running and shorter distance than normal. Leave your watch, GPS, or HRM at home and the intensity should feel considerably slower and easier than a normal running day. In most cases you should have one rest day per week before a harder day or sometimes after. Of course if you’re feeling tired or sore you can add a rest day anytime.
